from my Mom's computer

I am gonna be off line for a bit, my computer is borked. It will get to the windows loading screen and the little blue indicator will loop across the bar a few times then the screen blacks out and starts over. I got it to boot in safe mode and tried running chkdsk and it didn't help. At this point I am just sick of fighting with it and am going to go sit in front of the TV and mope.

after starting it in safe mode and running chkdsk (and trying to run chkdsk/f) it still won't boot up and now won't start in safe mode.
